The 41 video lessons are narrated by a cool dude, with explicit instruction delivered by nationally recognized reading specialist and author Marilyn Sprick. The Parallel Universe, Season 1 is a reading intervention for students in grades 5 through high school who haven’t mastered reading well enough to access sophisticated text with confidence. Lessons are scientifically based, following guidelines from research with compelling narrative and informational content.
Family members and school staff coach students to proficiency. The Parallel Universe is a motivating and effective curriculum, not a series of motivational activities. Students become stronger readers when The Parallel Universe is used with fidelity.
School Edition

The School Edition includes a 12-month video license that allows a school to set up multiple users for one-to-one tutorials with families or volunteers or for small group instruction with teachers, paraprofessionals and even parents at home who want to take on improving their child’s reading. Each adult needs a Coach’s Manual, and each student needs a Logbook.
